Fitou is a very old winegrower village in the department Aude, in the region Languedoc-Roussillon.
It is located about 5 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea, situated between Narbonne and Perpignan and almost something of an insider tip.
In the back you have the Corbières and the Pyrenees where one can wonderfully go on a discovery trip to the old Cathar castles and enjoy a breathtaking landscape.
And to the other side, you have the beaches of the Mediterranean, not untouched anymore, but long and wide and white.
The beaches of Leucate are a popular spot for kite-surfers, at almost every season of the year.
